Pastor RJ answered the call to salvation at a young age and discovered his gift of teaching and leading as a young adult. He has been privileged to serve within youth and young adults ministries, including hosting bible studies for college students; lead various ministries at Nations Ford and spend several years serving in ministry in Los Angeles and Long Beach, CA. Pastor RJ’s experience has taken him beyond ministry working within the YMCA of both Charlotte and Los Angeles for six years in the areas of membership and financial development. In his over ten years of ministry experience Pastor RJ has had the opportunity to journey overseas as a missionary to Kenya, East Africa, Mexico and Haiti as well tour Israel, the Holy Land.

 

Pastor RJ holds numerous awards and honors and is a frequent speaker at church and community events and conferences. He is a respected member of the community serving on the board of The Male Leadership Academy of Charlotte and is a former board member the Charlotte Neighborhood Matching Grants. Pastor RJ recently founded the Lead Charlotte Group, a movement created to empower a new generation for community leadership. He is currently completing the manuscript for his first soon to be published book entitled “Devotions for Life.”

 

Pastor RJ is a prolific speaker and stirs the hearts of those who hear him with his open and honest delivery of the Word of God. Currently he can be heard delivering the morning Inspirational Word for the Day, week days on the urban radio station WPEG Power 98.

 

Pastor RJ is the proud father of two beautiful young daughters; Nicolette Valerie Davis and Camille Gabrielle Davis.

• As Youth Pastor, provided leadership to overall youth ministry including training and developing volunteers, organizing various youth events and activities, providing sound biblical teaching and discipleship to youth. As Associate Pastor, served alongside senior leadership to train and equip ministers, facilitate discipleship classes, lead worship in the absence of senior pastor. 

 

2004                     Missionary to Mexico

• In partnership with Bethany Church, Long Beach, CA

• Served as a team leader for a group of 25  youth on short term mission assignment to Mexico. Ministry focus was serve orphan children and rebuilding orphan home.

• In partnership with Nations Ford Community Church

• Served as one of eleven individuals in 2002 on a team for a short term mission assignment to Kenya. Ministry focus was providing medical care and evangelism. Served as team leader on 2013 trip to Kenya.
